AI as Partner – Interactive Policy Matrix
I developed an interactive tool that helps lecturers clearly communicate how students may use AI within their course. Instead of manually creating and formatting an AI policy table in Canvas, lecturers select the appropriate rules for different types of AI use and assessment contexts.
The tool supports Yes, No, Conditional and Not Applicable, allows lecturers to specify conditions where needed, and automatically generates a read-only version that can be embedded directly into Canvas LMS. Students see a clear, colour-coded matrix, while expandable information panels provide additional context without cluttering the page.
The solution was built as a lightweight web application and designed around an important practical requirement: one reusable tool that can serve around 100 different Canvas courses without requiring separate installations or configurations.
What this project demonstrates: process simplification, user-centred design, HTML/CSS/JavaScript, Canvas LMS integration, and translating an educational policy framework into a practical digital workflow.
